Cloud Service Continuity
making it a reality with NetPrecept Software
cPEP™ v3.0

cPEP™ for Cloud Service Providers

Continuity of service is arguably the most important single requirement for the Cloud Service Provider. It can have the richest suite of services, the most skilled service architects, the fattest pipes giving the fastest service or the lowest operational costs available anywhere. But all this means nothing if the service becomes restricted, or in the worst case brought to a halt, because the traffic on customers’ domains is out of control. That is when the Service Provider’s business and brand are at most danger for that is when services can no longer be delivered.

Net Precept Software’s cPEP™ provides a toolset which enables Cloud Servic eProviders to define operational policies, such as the allowable traffic limits on each customer’s domain, policies which are implemented automatically by cPEP™. In this way, Service Providers gain the ability to maintain the traffic levels on their service delivery resources so that the service levels across their customer base can be easily managed.

cPEP™ is a vital tool in ensuring that agreed service levels are maintained and not compromised by runaway traffic on any one customer’s domain. The policies can be closely linked with the various Service Level Agreements (SLAs) a Service Provider offers its customers.

In addition, Service Providers can not only run cPEP™ as a core part of their own systems infrastructure, but they can also host cPEP™ instances for individual customers. This can be of particular value to any customer business with high levels of on-demand sales and transaction management. Such businesses are often prone to creating large spikes in traffic demands through a variety of reasons, ranging from poorly managed business activity such as marketing campaigns through to becoming a target for malicious hacking attacks, such as Denial of Service attacks.

cPEP™ can become a core part of a tiered set of Cloud Service Continuity service offerings for customers that can give business customers a sense of assurance that the services they depend upon will not succumb to temporary and poorly managed traffic overloads.
